The EA House League program runs on Saturday Mornings
The Fall Season is 13 weeks and runs from mid September to mid December. No games will be hosted on Thanksgiving Weekend.
Each season starts with an Assessment Day and ends with a Tournament Day.  Teams that go to the finals will receive a medal on tournament day.

Program Format:
All divisions are 1.5 hours in length. You receive both a practice and a game each week.  The session begins with 45 minutes of skills and drills followed by a 45 minute full court, refereed game of 8 x 4 minute shifts, run time.

Jerseys:
EA uses a reversible jersey for all players. This jersey is purchased separately (either during the registration process or at the office). The jersey does not change and only has to be purchased as required (first time player or when the player outgrows the jersey). This eliminates stacks of jerseys at home from playing multiple years.

Assessment Day Schedule:
All assessments are done at our gym on the first day of the season. These assessments are used to create and balance the playing teams. Your team name, coach and schedule will be communicated to you prior to the game the following Saturday.

Tournament Day:
Each season ends with a tournament day. It is a playoff format based on standings from the season games. Each team will play at least one game.

Coaches / Conveners:
We are always looking for volunteers to coach and convene our program. If you are interested in volunteering, you can indicate this during the registration process or send an email to markham@elevationathletics.ca.

Play Together Requests:
Although we would like to honor play together requests, the need to make fair teams will take precedence.  Player Request Form must be filled out by both parties and given to the office for approval.  While the club will make every effort to accommodate each request, the main focus of team-building is to balance teams, and so we cannot guarantee that each play together request will be granted.  If there are extenuating circumstances that “require” the request in order to play, please contact the office prior to registration at markham@elevationathletics.ca

Team Balancing:
We strive to have a balance between teams to the very best of our ability using time-tested methods that work most of the time.  Balancing teams definitely is not a perfect science for many reasons.  The athletes growth factors in size and ability, as well as the team cohesion variable make this an extremely difficult task even for passionate convenors and coaches who have known most of the players for years, and who work diligently together to create balanced teams.

Still we will always strive to do better and we will continue to communicate the importance of this factor to our coaches and convenors.  We are also looking to have coaches give a quick “ability level summary” at the end of all seasons such that the next division convenor has one more tool at their disposal when making teams.
